boo xmas knitting
So I'm trying to knit Knitty's Tychus and it's about to be 30 in. around. Nobody's head is that big. Ok, so I didn't swatch or anything, but really. Make it smaller! How? I was thinking of making only 4 pointy segment things instead of 5, which would make it 24" which is a reasonable size, but it will most definitely be pointy. And then not get worn, because pointy hats are not manly. They are elfy. High school boys don't want to be elfy. Poo. Time to see if anyone in the vast internet has downsized this thing successfully.
I'll post pictures later. Ok.

my needlepoint brings all the boys to the yard. they're like it's better than yars.
Hello there--I have also attempted to knit Tychus...I think 3 different times!! The first time, I didn't do a gauge swatch, and I thought that's what made the hat so huge. But the next two times...sized for a giant! Nice to see that someone else has similar problems. Any chance you'll post the changes you made to the pattern? I love the look of it, and being a girl, I could care less that it is pointy and elf-like.
